Due to my recent overspending on nail polishes (I've purchased over 50 in less than 2 months), I've decided that if I buy them, I must use them. Therefore, I've developed a challenge for myself....
A new nail polish color and/or design EVERY SINGLE DAY. Yes, you read correctly. 365 NEW designs, combinations, colors in a year.
Every day I'll post a picture of my nails and list the polishes and items used to create that look.

Safari eyes
For the make-up: Create a 'roughened up' smokey eye with brown and sand eyeshadow, black kohl eyeliner on the bottom lid only (smudge in a little vaseline to get that wet-black look) and lots of mascara.
Next apply Maybelline NY Dream Liquid Mousse to the face with a mineralize powder on top for sheen. A pinky blush was applied below the eyes and on the cheeks to create a baked effect. Maybeline Color Sensational lipstick in 'Plum perfect' was then finger-patted onto the lips.
For the hair: Twist sections of your hair into little chignons', spray with Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray (or make your own by mixing sea salt and boiling water into a spay bottle - wait till cool), blow-dry, back-comb and finger-separate to get that 'abused hair' look.
Think 'dirty & sexy in the sahara' and you'll bound to get it right! ;)

My little cupcake
One of my best friend's Chelsey Aronovitz is a pastry chef and she started a cupcake business that is doing really well! They make a beautiful gift and always receive a lot of ooh's and ahh's. I ordered a box of 'Winnie the Pooh' themed cupcakes for a party recently and everyone loved them.

Showing some skin
Trend alert: high wasted shorts/skirts teamed with little crop tops or bustiers. From Cobrasnake to the runways (Roberto Cavalli, Zac Posen & Channel) this look can be taken from daytime to evening and gives a really girly yet provocative look without trying to hard. Wore something like this to lectures the other day and felt a bit conscious of my sternum sticking out, it's not an area I'm used to revealing but I love the edge it has put into my summer wardrobe!
